THE PROBLEM

Monetization managed by ad network. Limited transparency and control.

Ad tags negatively impacting the CoreWeb Vital score.

Unused GAM. Limited time and ad ops expertise.

Decline in monthly revenue. Low revenue on Google AdSense.

The publisher began the monetization journey by hardcoding Google AdSense. They then switched to using GAM tags of an ad network called AdPushup, that managed the inventory monetization. This opened up the programmatic monetization of the publisher but with limited control and transparency. Additionally, the ad network’s tags (combination of GAM, refresh and header bidding) were negatively impacting the publisher’s CoreWeb Vital score. The monthly revenue of the publisher was also declining.

Customized header bidding and banner refresh code to

Improve Core Web Vitals

The first course of action taken by AdOpsOne was to move the publisher from the AdPushup’s GAM to their own. Our team analyzed the page layouts, ad placements and CMS used, and customized a GAM setup for the publisher. We also customized the Header Bidding and Banner Refresh tech for the publisher to deliver ~20% better outcome on their CoreWeb Vitals score. This new setup helped the publisher change the course of their revenue from downward to upward trending.

In addition to the above:

  • We improved all the core monetization metrics like fill rates, viewability and eCPMs. (eCPM lift of 16% in the first month and 25% in the second month)
  • We introduced the publisher to a few reliable demand partners (bidders and networks) to create auction pressure.

TESTIMONIAL

"It has been a pleasure to work with the AdOpsOne team. They have been very patient with the many questions I've asked along the way. In addition, they incorporated my feedback on several occasions in order to improve the service in a way that will benefit me and other publishers. Before AdOpsOne, I worked with some of their competitors who promised the moon and didn't deliver. In contrast, AdOpsOne set reasonable expectations and delivered on them which is really all I can ask as a publisher. I look forward to continuing our partnership in the future."
